The borgo di Nettuno is the oldest part of the Tyrrhenian city. It is located on the Matteotti waterfront, close to the sea, in the vicinity of the Isola Verde Camping Village. The village although called medieval has much older origins. It was the port and the oldest part of the Volscian city Antium, formed by today’s Anzio and Neptune and was called Cenone.
The village is currently inhabited. Houses are found in the streets and squares, and especially along the city walls and in the towers. It is frequented by citizens because of the presence of the Church of St. John and the numerous businesses. On evenings, especially summer evenings, the streets of the village fill with people due to the massive presence of clubs, bars, ice cream parlors, wine bars, clubs and restaurants.
